Snezhana Reizen is an interdisciplinary artist, improviser, and composer of experimental electronic music.
Born in Poltava, Ukraine, she studied at the Jazz School in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. She has been active in the improvisational music scene since 2003, participating in many music festivals and art collectives. She is also a co-founder of the music label "Abstand."
In her works, she investigates obscure possibilities in sonic material extracted from various media: environment, magnetic fields, electricity discharges, radio, analogue synths, digital errors, etc. Approaching different types of shifting techniques, manipulating microtonal, polyrhythmic, and spatial sound movements, she creates atmospheric canvases, immersing the listener deep inward.
It's experimental electroacoustics with a focus on sonic micro-events as artefacts, exposing the nerve of the imaginary.
